Your contract in terms you can understand.

1 of 15. How much disc-space do I get (how big will my site be)?

5 Mb that is enough for most websites (this site 0.2 Mb).

For more space it will be an extra £1 per Mb per month.

If you need a large site then there are other options which we can discus.

2 of 15. Do I get a Domain name (can I get a unique address like www.yourname.com)?

You get one Domain name free. It may not be exactly as you want it, most names have already been taken but we will do our best.

For more Domain names it will be charged at cost plus £0.50 per month administration.

3 of 15. Do I get my own e-mail address (something@yourname.com)?

You will have one e-mail address that includes your domain name. You can choose the front part of the address, info@yourname.com, contact@yourname.com, firstname@yourname.com or anything@yourname.com

4 of 15. Who is responsible for the design of my website?

We both are, I will advise and show you examples but you have the final say.

5 of 15. What if I change my mind about the final agreed design?

Within reasonable limits this should not be a problem. I will update your design for you for free.

6 of 15. Who is responsible for the content of my website (what is written)?

We both are, you can write as much or as little as you like. I include copy-writing in the package but most people have something to say themselves. You can write and I will edit or I can write and you can edit, the final say about what goes on your site is with you.

7 of 15. What if I change my mind after the content has been written?

Within reasonable limits this is no problem. In fact it is encouraged and I will be working hard to keep your site up to date and relevant. There are no dead sites in the Holistic Web.

8 of 15. What about pictures?

A picture paints a thousand words but unfortunately it uses a thousand times as much disc space. Be selective about your images and allow me to optimise them for the Internet. Lots of images take a long time to download (appear before your website visitor) and usually website visitors do not like to wait. You are advised to have some pictures but follow my guidance. You can have as many pictures as you like but you may end up with a slow site that visitors do not hang around for and you may need to purchase extra space.

9 of 15. Who is the legal owner of my website?

Once all fees have been paid you own; your site, design, content, full licence for any scripts or programmes which have been written for you. You can move it in its entirety to another host with your domain name. You will then be responsible for the domain name fees to keep it active.

10 of 15. How much does it cost?

The current cost is £180. per year paid in advance.

There is the option to pay monthly at no extra cost, however, please be aware that you are entering a contract for a minimum of two years.

There is a set-up fee of £400.

[However, 50% is deferred to the end of the contract (if you never leave Holistic Web you will never have to pay it. The other 50% is due on commencement, however this fee has been waived as a promotional offer.]

11 of 15. How do I pay?

You may pay by cash.

12 of 15. When will my site be ready?

Websites are an ongoing process so it should be continuously developing and growing.

You will not need to make any payments until you have seen and approved your site.
Your site will not be fully life, ie., published on the internet until you have seen and approved your site.
The time it takes from initial contact to going life is usually down to how committed you are to sending the required content.

13 of 15. What if I am unhappy with your service?

Tell me and I will endeavour to put it right. If the issue cannot be resolved, then you are free to leave at anytime owing nothing. Because of the way the payments work out, not matching the work or cost to begin with, there will be no refunds.

Ending the contract in this way will mean that the ©of content, scripts, codes and programmes of the website and the domain name will remain with Holistic Web.

14 of 15. Will this service ever be withdrawn?

There may be a reason for me to withdraw service.

One, an act of God, i.e., I die, but hopefully I will have someone to carry on my work.

Two, we are totally unable to find common ground and/or you continually make unrealistic demands.

There is also the issue of Up Time. Sometimes web servers go down and there is nothing we can do about it. You can expect Up Time of a minimum 98%, currently 99.99%

15 of 15 Will my payments ever be increased?

The current cost is a promotional price. Those who come after will be paying much more. However, your yearly fees will never increase more than by the rate of inflation. Oh lucky you. When recommending this service as I am sure you will, be careful not to tell them how much you pay.
